Where It All Began
Hospitality runs in the family. The founder’s grandfather was a chef, his mother ran a small restaurant of her own, and his brother eventually carried the family’s passion for hospitality to Brazil. Mr. Gerald came to Moscow as a culinary student. By 2004, he had become a chef, before continuing his journey in hospitality and hotel management in Paris. By 2006, the dream of Lacabana was already taking shape — with no fortune, no established name, only a clear vision and the confidence to make it real
The Climb
Built for everyone but himself
For years, he built restaurants for everyone but himself — more than 20 across Russia: Moscow, Volgograd, Pyatigorsk, Kislovodsk. Every one from scratch: kitchen, menu, team. Many still thrive today, and people still call him for advice. At night, he became someone else — Gerry Party Kitchen, throwing parties that gathered a community around him. Every kitchen he built for others turned out to be a rehearsal for his own.
Fall and Rise
A dream that refused to die
In 2013, the dream found a home: a club across from the Kremlin. In 2016, Lacabana Group was officially born. And the 2018 World Cup, when fans flooded in craving real African cuisine, gave it a true identity: afrobeat, African food, African pride. Then came city reconstruction, COVID, and economic crises. Every time we fell, we got back up. We didn't give up.

And the Road Ahead
Today, Lacabana Group is a Moscow home of intercontinental hospitality. Lacabana African Kitchen, the multi-cuisine restaurant 4Pees, 'Lepim i Varim', and LA Club were all built so that Africans, Russians, and Latin Americans, every guest, could feel at home. What's next? Expansion into Nigeria and Equatorial Guinea. From one man's dream to a home for thousands.
