Roots

Where It All Began

Hospitality runs in his blood. The founder's grandfather was a chef, his mother ran her own mini-restaurant, and his brother carried the family flame to Brazil. Mr Gerald entered a Moscow kitchen as a student cook, became a chef by 2004, and then trained in hospitality and hotel management in Paris. By 2006, the dream of Lacabana was already alive — no money, no name, only certainty.

The Climb

Building Everything, Owning Nothing

For years he built restaurants for everyone but himself — more than 20 across Russia, from Moscow to Volgograd, Pyatigorsk and Kislovodsk, each created from zero: kitchen, menu, team. Many still thrive and still call him back as a consultant. By night, as Gerry Party Kitchen, he threw parties and built a community. Every kitchen made for others was practice for his own.

The Fall and the Rise

A Dream That Refused to Die

In 2013 the dream found a home: a club opposite the Kremlin. Lacabana Group was officially born in 2016, and the 2018 World Cup — with fans flooding in for a full African kitchen — gave it its true identity: Afrobeat, African food, African pride. Then came city reconstruction, COVID and economic crises. Each time we fell, we rose. We never gave up.

And the Road Ahead

Today Lacabana Group is Moscow's home of intercontinental hospitality: Lacabana African Kitchen, the 4Pees multi-cuisine restaurant, Лепим и Варим, and the LA Club — adapted so African, Russian, Latin American and every other guest feels at home. What's next? Expansion into Nigeria and Equatorial Guinea. From one man's dream to a home for thousands.
